Results of Spring staging ringing at the station

We finished our spring program this morning.(19 April)

Thanks to the great weather conditions, we have been able to ring for 10 consecutive days.

In comparison to 2013, the number of birds captured has decreased, like we had observed last autumn.

The most affected species seem to be the common and lesser whitethroats, at least locally.

In 10 sessions, we captured 465 birds when we had captured 588 birds in 8 sessions in 2013.

From now on, what we hope for is that the reproduction will happen in better conditions than the last few years in order for the populations to increase.
We would like to thank  every person who has participated in this spring program!!
